The Phenomenology of Prayer

This collection of ground-breaking essays considers the many dimensions of prayer: how prayer relates us to the divine; prayer’s ability to reveal what is essential about our humanity; the power of prayer to transform human desire and action; and the relation of prayer to cognition. BRUCE ELLIS BENSON is Professor and Chair of Philosophy at Wheaton College, Illinois. Among the volumes he has co-edited is The Phenomenology of Prayer (Fordham).

NORMAN WIRZBA is Research Professor of Theology, Ecology, and Rural Life at Duke Divinity School. He is co-editor of The Phenomenology of Prayer (Fordham).
