Continuum Glossary of Religious Terms

This text provides a comprehensive glossary of terms from seven major religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. The religions have been chosen to relect the main faiths that are studied both in school and at university in the English speaking world. The glossary also contains the key specialist terminology used in the study of religion. This work should help anyone studying religion up to graduate level but would also provide information for anyone interested in religious practice and belief, whether their reasons are to gain qualifications or merely personal pursuit of knowledge. The author has written the glossary after noting the requests of students concerning their worries over the complexities of dealing with unfamiliar concepts in a range of unknown languages. The glossary also provides exploration of religious terminology providing understanding of the religious tradition.
