While individual biographies of Ginsberg and Leary have been published, their explicit ties have never been explored (outside of FBI files). The combination of these two figures brings together a multitude of major figures from politics, the arts, and the intersection of intellectual life and outlaw culture in a way that sheds new light on the dawn of the 1960s countercultural movement.

Even after their deaths, they are considered dangerously provocative figures to some, and inspirational figures to others.
