Don Elkins was born in Louisville, KY, in 1930. He holds 4 university degrees. He has taught Mechanical Engineering and Physics. In 1965 he left his teaching in order to give himself more time for the research that he pursued all of his adult life, one result of which is this book. He became a 727 Captain for a major airline. Don Elkins died on November 7, 1984.
