Coming 'Cross the Street

Coming ‘Cross the Street is a collection of more than two dozen essays and letters--some expressed with powerful poetic flourishes—that examine relationships, social and cultural dynamics, and the spiritual dimension of life.  The diverse selections range from childhood lessons learned in a rural environment and coming-of-age encounters at a historically black college to responses to racial injustices and the author’s provocative commentary on the cosmology of ancient Egypt. In Coming ‘Cross the Street an African American man declares his realization that Life urgently calls all people to search for the knowledge of their true selves.
