Blood Covenant

Jonathan Cravers, a tormented vampire, lives a haunted half-life. Cursed by a witch he condemned to death, he must subsist on innocent blood. Over the years, he has been protected by an unholy blood covenant signed by his brother Edward. Perpetuated through Edward’s descendants, it has come down to one infant boy, the last of his line. If Jonathan cannot control the child’s destiny, he and all those before him will be condemned to Hell’s punishments.

When he tricks the child’s mother, Hannah, into bringing the boy to him, he doesn’t plan on his attraction to the grieving widow. But Adrian, her supposedly dead husband, thwarts his every move. Using manipulation, Jonathan ensures Hannah’s freedom to accept him. His plots unravel when she realizes the truth. She sinks into a state of despondency from which he cannot pull her.

The arrival of Hannah’s devout cousin, Angela Marshall, provides hope for Hannah’s recovery. But Angela’s gift of discernment soon leads her to unearth Jonathan’s dreadful secret.

Nathaniel Cravers, a theologian professor seeking answers to the mystery of his family roots, discloses an astonishing familial connection. Jonathan presents a proposal he knows will set the principles of Nathaniel’s faith against allegiance to his ancestor.

Angela and Nathaniel strive to help Jonathan come to terms with his condition and understand the possibilities for redemption. But his conviction that only blessed blood can spare him could condemn Angela to a state more appalling than his own. Despite his self-serving belief, Jonathan realizes he cares for her in a way he never expected. Losing her would be the greatest tragedy of all.

Tensions mount, spreading to the nearby village. Suspicions fueled by superstition and a fanatical minister, culminate in a confrontation that could cost Jonathan everything.

Throughout it all, a band of Heavenly Guardians battles the legions of Hell to guide those on the human plane. Only they know the truth of who cursed Jonathan, and why. Unable to control those on the mortal plane, they can only counsel resistance to the dark lure of Satan’s dominion.

The spiritual battle will not be over until the outcome is decided by the choices of free will and the power of forgiveness. Which will prevail—the forces of Heaven or Hell?
