War is never easy, but when a soldier goes off to serve in the Civil War, the women and families are left to stay home with nothing but worry, wonder and hope. When Johnny goes missing after a fierce and deadly battle at Gettysburg, worry and wonder become fear and frustration for his family back home. Luckily, Samantha grew up tagging along with Johnny and his friends, learning how to do things she never thought a proper Southern Belle would ever get to do. As the seasons continue to change with no word from Johnny, Samantha yearns to bring him home safely. Finally, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
