Serey S. Tep was raised in the deep Northern Jungle of Cambodia by people who was the remnant of the lost civilization of Angkor Empire. He was told by his grandfather about ancient history of the land and the Khmer (Cambodian) Who was at the center of empire civilization, and the Yourn (Vietnamese), the Siem (Thai), the Liev (Laotian) Who moved down from Southern Chin (China). The Champa Kingdom (Present day Central Vietnam) Who was eliminated from the world map, and the Kampuchea Krom land (South Vietnam) Lost to the Vietnamese. He learned about religions, customs, traditions and civilization of the Angkor Empire from the Brahmin Priests. The Warrior-Hunters taught him martial art, hunting and killing skills. The most imported knowledge that he cherished the rest of his life was taught about the art of love making personally hand on instruction by a beautiful Goddess Avatar. Just like any living thing on this planet, he tries to find his way to survive. He was a refugee from Cambodia, escaped from the Communist (Khmer Rouge). Just like he described in this book, he had joint force with a band of soldier escaped to Thai border. They had to overcame, adapted and improvised in order to survive the exodus through the valley in the shadow of death. In the United States, he had found new life and a home in the United States Marine Corps.
