Elektrafied

A reinterpretation of Sophocles’ ancient tragedy, Elektra, Elektrafied transposes the scheming, subterfuge, and vengeance of the House of Atreus onto the grim mystery of early 20th-century noir. Alfred Atreides, war hero and business tycoon, has suddenly vanished without a trace, plunging his ancestral home of Mycenae Manor into chaos. His wife, Judith, has since seized control of the family and is confident that her husband will not return. The only resistance to Judith’s rule comes from the manor’s young maid, Elektra, who believes Alfred’s disappearance to be more than just a twist of fate. Yet the only accomplishment of Elektra’s defiance has been Judith’s fury. The new Atreides matriarch has hidden Elektra’s pay, leaving her trapped and penniless. Elektra now faces a strange and unpleasant ultimatum: remain destitute or marry Alfred’s loathsome cousin, Randolph.
