Lewis Wilder thinks he’s found an uncomplicated life when he takes the job as curator of the history museum in Nolichucky, Tennessee, a town snoozing in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He’s wrong in so many ways. While Wilder is getting to know his new neighbors, the Fox, a burglar with a sense of style, is getting acquainted with the neighbors’ portable antiques. Then, anonymous envelopes of cash start arriving at the museum. Coincidence? Complicating matters further are anonymous phone calls, a journalist asking too many questions, a lecherous guitar picker, a wealthy boor, the boor’s libidinous wife, and Wilder’s own tangled past. Wilder Rumors is a small town mystery with Southern Appalachian charm and humor.
