You too can teach your child to read!
"A Good Start Reading" comes to you from over thirty years of teaching reading as a public school reading teacher, special education teacher, as well as through vast private tutoring experience. It is exactly what the title implies: a good start. It is designed for very beginning readers who can identify all the alphabet letters and the corresponding sounds. "A Good Start Reading" teaches children how to read and discriminate short vowel words (cat, bed, hot, etc.) and gives them an understanding of the reading process.
Consistently, parents of new and struggling readers express that they don’t know how to teach their child to read and additionally, that they don’t feel qualified or confident to take on the challenge. Often this situation becomes frustrating for both the parent and the child.
