Two sisters.
Both want a way out. Both have a plan...
Jess's life hasn't turned out the way she had hoped. She's smart and excels at school. She's got a job, a head for business and a plan for the future.
But she's fallen into the role of caregiver and sole provider for her heroin-addicted mother and delinquent older sister Nova.
Nova holds a high-profile position in a local girl gang. Despite common sense, Jess idolizes her sister's life. It seems to be one of excitement, camaraderie and freedom, and Jess wants in.
Nova knows that gang life isn't for her sister, but Jess insists. After one explosive argument, Nova betrays Jess and leaves her to fend for herself.
Jess takes her future into her own hands and joins a rival gang. It's just what she needs, but it's also a decision that leads her down a path of unforeseen consequences.
The rough neighborhoods of South Central L. A. erupt with violence over one blazing summer night as two gangs, two sisters, wage war on each other.
Try Tied today, because who doesn't want to experience the world of tough, streetwise girl gangs of South Central L.A.

Praise for Tied: A Street Gang Novel
*"...Fast moving, intriguing, humorless and upsetting with an ending that left me breathless, thoughtful and sad. I can thoroughly recommend it to all who enjoy a gritty crime novel and who have a strong constitution."
"This violent world in which teenage girl gangs are menacing and dangerous is gripping. I really wanted to find out who would survive."
"This story is very well thought out with believable characters and situations. Gabel does a great job drawing us into the life that many of us know nothing about."*
"Gabel's detail-rich world of gang culture was a fascinating read. The story will draw you in and the characters will keep you to the surprising end."
About the Author
Since 1992, Lee has worked within the visual and dramatic arts landscape as a graphic designer, illustrator, visual effects artist, animator, screenwriter and author. He's contributed to an Emmy award and once walked 63.5 kilometers in 13 hours. Traditionally trained as a screenwriter, Lee has moved to writing books in order to share his stories.
Lee has spent most of his life living on an island in the Pacific Northwest and he writes in multiple genres that interest him. Why? In his own words: “Writing is magic. I’ll never understand how it works the way it does, but I do know if I put energy into writing, it rewards me in strange and wonderful ways. Even if I know where I’m going in a story, often I’ll end up being pulled in directions by my characters that I least expect. What ends up on the page never ceases to surprise me, and that’s super cool. Writing continues to be one of the most difficult and most rewarding aspects of my life.”
