On either side of a river in the Hautes-Pyrenees lie the French village of Saint François and the Spanish village of La Tuca, joined only by a ruined stone bridge. For as long as anyone can remember, the villagers have treated each other with scepticism and mistrust. But the death of Eduardo Castana, a Spaniard who had fought alongside the French Resistance and spent his life in the French village, combined with the global financial meltdown and alarming earth movements, compel the villagers to work together. Will they be able to put years of cultural differences behind them, or will their prejudices cause their downfall?
Brioches & Bocadillos is a rolling tale set in the Hautes-Pyrenees. It follows the highs and lows of quirky French and Spanish villagers as they overcome their cultural differences and face obstacles, both literal and figurative, before each, in their own way, finds happiness.
