The Guardians are an ancient, highly evolved and benevolent people who access sun crystals’ mystical powers. Their world is about to be destroyed when Admiral Garland and Madame discover the crystals. In desperation, the Guardians send Sidney Davenport to foil Garland’s attempt to access the power of gods. She is captured and charged with spying - an automatic death sentence in the post apocalyptical world of rules.

Since the horrific global catastrophe, governments maintain law and order demanding absolute compliance to rules; Criminals are quietly dispatched and executed on military ships. Captain Waterhouse of the American naval supply ship walks a fine line. He remains determined to find his wife’s killer. The number one suspect, Admiral Garland and Captain Butchart. They discovered she found their file on the crystals and sent information to Badger, head of the underground in New Seattle. She was dead within a week.

Captain Waterhouse’s life becomes bizarre when he receives Sidney for execution. As he conducts interrogations to ensure she’s guilty, his staff can’t explain how his ship sailed through a killing storm unscathed? How a bullet wound in her hand healed within a day? Why did a hawk’s feather appear under her bed in the infirmary from a bird more than two thousand years old?

It’s not long before he discovers his prisoner is going to free him from the Admiral’s prison.
