Doctor Jac’s upbringing was incredibly similar to that of his protagonist, Michael Holmes-indeed, Holmes’s earlier adventure, Rough Waters, is semiautobiographical.
Doctor Jac joined the navy in the 1950s and served as an intelligence officer. After leaving the service, he tried his hand at business and became one of the world’s leading experts in human capital analysis. He developed the first HR quantitative reporting system, founded the Saratoga Institute, and published the first international HR benchmarking service.
Doctor Jac has written thirteen books and over four hundred articles. His titles include Human Value Management, The ROI of Human Capital, and The New HR Analytics.
Doctor Jac has a BA in political science from the University of Notre Dame, an MA in organizational psychology from San Francisco State, and a PhD in organizational communications from the University of Southern California. He lives in San Jose, California, with his wife, Laura.
