Raised on the edge of a decaying research village in a forgotten corner of Japan, Junko eventually found her true home on the darkened streets of 2043 Tokyo, among the data phantoms, roving hordes, and remote-controlled vermin. Between deliveries for her masters, she thought she could carve out a life somewhere on the edge. 

But tonight, something has unbalanced the normal way of things in the city. And now, even scavengers like her are no longer protected by the unseen hand of the system. Tonight, Junko watched her last and only friend die in front of her. 

Jones Byrne knew Junko’s friend well. But Byrne is a foreigner. A death sentence for her, unless she puts him to good use. Byrne needs to escape from Tokyo. And maybe she can help.
