We have all seen movies and read stories about the American experience of G.I. soldiers in Viet Nam, but what about the other side? Many Vietnamese men and women endured atrocities and horrible casualties from the war, and Americans have rarely heard the other side of what happened during that time in history. Author Dieu Bao grew up during the Viet Nam war and experienced everything from first love to bombs dropping on her house. She eventually moved to America to escape the madness going on in her country at that time, and has spent the last few decades building a meaningful life devoid of the violence and ambivalence of her youth. Today Dieu Bao lives in Oregon and is happily married. She aspires to share her life experience with anyone willing to listen.
