Life has never been easy for Gypsies in Romania, they suffer crushing poverty, and they are considered interlopers, always suspected of theft or mischief.

Matei dreams of a better life for his children, but he has only meager earnings from his small shop in Bistrita, Romania. This is his opportunity.
