Supercapacitors are energy storing devices, gaining great scientific attention due to their excellent cycling life, charge-discharge stability, energy, and power density. The central theme of this book is to review the multiple applications of polymer nanocomposites in supercapacitors in a comprehensive manner, including discussions pertaining to various unresolved issues and new challenges in the subject area. It illustrates polymer nanocomposite preparation and working mechanisms as electrodes, binders, separators, and electrolytes. This edited volume also explains different components of supercapacitors, including theory, modelling, and simulation aspects.

作者簡介

Soney C George, is the Dean Research and Director, Centre for Nanoscience and Technology, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, Kerala, India. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, and a recipient of "best researcher of the year 2018" award from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram, India. He has also received awards such as best faculty award from the Indian Society for Technical Education, best citation award from the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, a fast-track award of young scientists by Department of Science & Technology, India, and an Indian Young Scientist Award instituted by the Indian Science Congress Association. He is also a recipient of CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership from Dudley College of Technology, London as part of AICTE-UKIERI Training Programme. He did his postdoctoral studies at the University of Blaise Pascal, France, and Inha University, South Korea. He has guided eight PhD scholars and 102 student projects. He has published and presented almost 240 publications in journals and in conferences and his h-index is 27. His major research fields are polymer nanocomposites, polymer membranes, polymer tribology, pervaporation, and supercapcitors. Besides he took leadership in organizing a sponsored international conference on Engineering Education in association with IEEE International chapter, as well as conferences on development of Nanoscience and Technology. he initiated several lecture series like Issac Newton Lecture Series, ACeNT Lecture Series, and Lecture Series on Nobel Prize Winning Works in order to bring eminent scientists and academicians from India and abroad to the College. Scientists from U.S.A, Malaysia, France, Poland, and South Africa have visited the campus and interacted with students through his networking. Collaborative research work was also initiated between Gdansk University of Technology, Poland, Inha University, South Korea, University of Blasé Pascal, France, Centre for Nanostructures and Advanced Materials, CSIR, South Africa, Durham University, United Kingdom.

Sam John is working as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry at St Berchmans College (Autonomous), Changanassery, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He received his PhD degree in Chemistry from the University of Calicut in 2013. His research is focused on the development of corrosion control using organic coatings and inhibitors and recently focused on designing and tailoring materials for energy-related applications (batteries and supercapacitors) and Corrosion mitigation in metal-air batteries. Dr. John has published more than 34 papers in peer-reviewed international journals in electrochemistry and contributed five book chapters published by CRC Press and Elsevier. He has an h index of 14.

Sreelakshmi Rajeevan is a research scholar at the Centre for Nanoscience and Technology, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, Kerala, India, affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala, India. She holds a Master of Technology in Polymer Science and Technology and a Master of Science in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. She has two publications in international journals and three book chapters. Her major research fields are 2D nanomaterials, nanocomposites, polymer nanocomposites, electrochemistry, supercapacitor, and energy storage devices.
