Pediatric Abdominal Organ Transplantation: An Introduction and Practical Guide

Pediatric abdominal organ transplantation is a complex procedure that requires a multidisciplinary team. This book highlights the surgical view of these transplantations and will expand understanding the general concepts of pediatric abdominal transplantation, surgical procedure, and complications of each type of graft for all team members.

Professor Nigel Heaton is the head of liver transplantation at King’s College Hospital NHSFT and the clinical academic co-lead for Liver, Renal, Urology, GI Medicine and Surgery and Transplantation within King’s Health Partners, the Academic Health Centre serving South London. He is an Adult and paediatric liver transplant and HPB surgeon and has been responsible for the liver transplant programme at King’s College Hospital for the past 20+years.

Sergio Assia Zamora is a pediatrician and pediatric surgeon. Currently he is a senior clinical Fellow in Pediatric Liver Transplant at King’s College Hospital. He is a member of the following: the European Board of Transplant Surgeons; the European Board of Pediatric Surgeons; American Society of Transplant Surgeons; British Association of Pediatric Surgeons; Royal College of Surgeons Liver Transplant; Royal College of Surgeons; International Liver Transplant Society; British Transplant Society; Pediatric Surgical Council; Pediatric Council; and the Mexican Society of Transplantation.
