Fernando Martell has a B.S. in Electronic Systems Engineering, a M.S. in Energy Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Electronic Systems all from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, in 1993, 2007, and 2012, respectively. He worked with AMIGE from 1994 to 2002, implementing automation and optimization projects. In 2002, he founded Ingenieria Mecatronica, S.A., and worked in this company as engineering manager. Since 2017, he has been an engineering researcher at Centro de Investigaciones en Optica, A.C., Aguascalientes, Mexico, working in technology development in areas, such as power electronics, energy, mechatronics, and cyberphysical systems. He has been a member of the National Researchers System, CONACYT, Mexico. (2014-2017, and since 2020).
Irma Y. Sanchez has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (1993), a M.S. in Control Engineering (1997) and a Ph.D. in Mechatronics (2008) from Tecnologico de Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She has been a professor at Tecnologico de Monterrey since 1994 and also at Universidad Politecnica de Aguascalientes since 2019. Her research work at the same institutions includes robotics, cyberphysical systems, process and control engineering, and control of physiological systems. She has been research manager at Ingenieria Mecatronica, S.A, since 2006, working in robotics and automation. She received a scholarship from the Faculty for the Future Program of Schlumberger (2006) for her Ph.D. studies, and the Romulo Garza Award for her Ph.D. Thesis from Tecnologico de Monterrey in 2008. She has been a member of the National Researchers System, CONACYT, Mexico (2009-2012).
