Andy Borrie, PhD is Senior Lecturer in Coaching and Professional Practice at the University of Derby as well as running his own consultancy business. He has over 30 years’ experience in elite sport and higher education as an applied sport science practitioner, lecturer and coach educator. For twelve years Andy was Head of Performance at Loughborough University managing their high-performance talent programmes and helping talented athletes to transition on to senior international programmes. In addition, Andy has extensive experience as an author and deliverer of coach education programmes as well as being on the Premier Leagues ’Elite Mentoring Panel’ working with Heads of Coaching in soccer club academies.
Emily Ryall, PhD is a Reader in Applied Philosophy at the University of Gloucestershire with particular interest in the philosophy of sport and sport ethics. Emily is an applied philosopher who has worked on a wide range of projects looking at the ethical and moral foundations of how we develop sport. Having been an elite rugby player Emily is passionate about how should be working to create ethical talent programmes. She has been delivering and co-designing the BASES workshop on Professional and Research Ethics for over 10 years and has regularly spoken and written about a range of ethical issues in sport in national and international media. She advises sports organisations about ethical governance and is a member of a several ethics and integrity advisory committees.
