Carbon Capture and Storage in the United Kingdom: History, Policies and Politics

This book is a concise but comprehensive guide to the history, present and possible futures of carbon capture and storage policy and action in the United Kingdom.

Marc Hudson was educated in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. He worked as an aid worker in Southern Africa and as a physiotherapist in the UK, specialising in amputee rehabilitation, before undertaking a PhD at the University of Manchester. His thesis examined the strategies and tactics of incumbents resisting carbon pricing in Australia in the period 1989-2012, as a contribution to the study of the politics of socio-technical transitions. He has held postdoctoral roles at Keele and Sussex universities. His academic articles have appeared in Environmental Politics, Energy Research & Social Science, Energy Policy and other journals. He has also written for The Conversation, Peace News and New Internationalist and engaged in local climate activism for 15 years in Manchester.
