圖書名稱:Leading to Excel: Principles of Transformation

內容簡介

Transformation, by definition, is a radical change in outcome - not incremental small movements. Too often organizations claim to have a transformation organization, yet little to no evidence of achieving anything close to the level of significant change from their prior state, let alone compared to its own industry’s performance. What are the principles that exist in every transformation?

This book details those principles found across industries including highly competitive automotive global competitors to local healthcare large and small. Leading radical improvement demands leadership "muscle, mentality, and motivation." It demands practice, repetition, and building muscles to "lift" organizations often facing heavy resistance. Those who excel in transformative change achieve a mental state envisioning the future, blocking out disruptions, and help others see the same view of a largely different future. In this book, the author coaches leaders on how to build the muscle, mental state, and motivate oneself and the organization to achieve radical change and focuses on radical improvement against industry competitors. Detailed examples in healthcare, manufacturing, aviation, automotive, and financial services are included to help those who struggle to achieve changes. The author shares his experiences in each of these industries as leaders learned and applied the principles of leading transformations. The author shares screen navigation in Minitab on how to measure, do measurement system analyses, and create in real time. Examples of dashboards and visual management techniques are also included.

作者簡介

Rick Morrow is a leader experienced across high reliability organizations such as Motorola, Eaton, United Airlines, and The Joint Commission. He delivers statistically valid improvements while maintaining a sense of humor that engages Boards, executives, providers, and staff in solving their issues. Leading people in change is what Rick does, and with a data-driven scientific approach. $10M more in reimbursement, elimination of wrong site surgeries, and improving patient experience scores from the 40th percentile to the 85th demonstrate the breadth of Rick’s capabilities. Rick has led teams solving NHTSA related catastrophic events in transportation. His team has solved some of healthcare’s most complex issues of poor clinical outcomes for patients including surgical safety, infections, readmissions, long lengths of stay, and provider satisfaction. And, his executive experience running facilities, supply chains, and strategy in ultra-competitive industries including automotive, aviation, and electrical safety helps answer why problems are easier for him while so many fail to succeed, let alone sustain.

Rick founded RPM Exec to accelerate transforming healthcare reliability making lives better. Healthcare, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Electrical Safety Products - Rick brings the best of the best in each industry with his own "Roadmap" in leading improvement. Rick also spent time as a Lead/Director of USAA, a financial services company offering banking and insurance to people and families who serve, or served, in the US Armed forces.

Rick is the author of three books all published with Productivity Press, Utilizing the 3Ms of Process Improving for Healthcare, Utilizing the 3Ms of Process Improvement, and Leading High Reliability Organizations in Healthcare. Rick holds an MBA from the University of Illinois’ Executive Program. He is a certified Master Black Belt.
