Dr. Monika Garg is working as a scientist at NABI, Mohali for the past 14 years. She obtained a PhD and post-doctoral experience from Tottori University, Japan. She had also served in ICARDA, CGIAR, Syria, as an Associate Scientist. She has more than 70 publications in reputed journals with an h-index of 24 and as an Editor/Reviewer for various journals. She is working on the biofortification of wheat to improve its nutritional quality. She is involved in the exploration of biofortified wheat as a commercial crop and understanding its effect on lifestyle disorders. She is also working on the pre-breeding platform for improved heat tolerance and sustainable production. Her special interest lies in anthocyanin biofortified colored wheat.
Dr. Saloni Sharma is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Genetics, University of Granada, Spain. Previously she worked as an ICMR-postdoctoral fellow at NABI, Mohali. She also has interest and experience in plant genetics, genomics, and physiology. Her research is on colored wheat crop genetics, genomics, stress-responsive physiology and studying wheat biofortification. She obtained a PhD from Panjab University, India. Before her PhD, she was involved with research at Agriculture University, Palampur, India. She has published more than 30 research/review articles and book chapters in reputed journals with an h-index of 16. She is also contributing as a reviewer in reputed journals.
Dr. Apoorv Tiwari holds an M.Sc. from CSJM University, Kanpur, and M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from SHUATS, Prayagraj, India. Currently, as a Project Scientist at the National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute in Mohali, Punjab, he conducted research on the genomics of colored wheat. Previously, as a Senior Researcher at GBPUA&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, he worked on GWAS, identifying potential SNP markers for nutritional traits in finger millet. With over 50 publications in renowned journals along with editorial/reviewer roles, Dr. Tiwari’s expertise encompasses crop genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, GWAS, QTL mapping, statistical methodologies, and computer-aided drug design. His contributions have earned him recognition with the Young Scientist and Governor’s awards.
