Planning, praying, and pursuing. These are the three Ps that Lorna Parsons Mc.Hargh found instrumental on her journey. Her desire as you read this book is that you will be motivated and encouraged to incorporate these practical principles into your own life.

In this candid memoir, Lorna shares her personal experiences, aspirations, and unwavering trust in God through the years. Her story begins in Jamaica, where she grew up in the rural community of Mulgrave in the 1950s and ’60s. She offers vivid insight into the country’s history, twentieth-century customs, family life and values, cuisine, celebrations, culture, religion, music, and more.

After finishing teachers’ college at Bethlehem Teachers College, in Malvern, St. Elizabeth and working in schools on the island for several years, Lorna’s tale moves across the ocean to Canada, where she furthers her education at Sir George Williams University (now Concordia) in Montreal and meets her future husband on a visit to Toronto.

At the heart of the narrative is her strong Christian upbringing that shaped her decisions and determination as well as inspirational Bible quotes, poems, and spiritual references to God’s goodness and how He provides for each one of us on our journey here on Earth.
