Whenever Rafael visits his grandparents, he first gives Abuela a hug, then he runs to see Abuelo in the garage. Abuelo makes model airplanes, and Rafael wishes he could fly in one. Together, Abuelo and Rafael build a biplane they can fly together.
Over the years, Abuelo and Rafael enjoy flying the biplane together. Abuelo teaches Rafael to fly the biplane, and then how to perform tricks and stunts. Eventually, Abuelo becomes too old to fly for very long or do the stunts they used to do together, so with pride he watches Rafael from the ground.
This is a story of legacy and love. It is a story of the connection between a grandfather and his grandson. Abuelo’s words of encouragement to Rafael-"Do better than I did. You are my legacy"-propel Rafael to build a starship with his own grandchildren then fly beyond the bounds of Earth into space surpassing the wildest dreams of his Abuelo.
