In Van Men, three Workmen sit in a van waiting to start a routine job. But the job is late arriving, giving them time to discuss the important things in life. As time drags the conversation becomes ever-more fraught and unpleasant, making keeping the peace almost impossible.

In Head Start, Publisher Harold Richie is working late at his office when there is an unexpected knock on his door. Warily, Richie answers the summons and is confronted by an unsolicited request from a distant traveller. Hard-nosed Harold takes pity on the kid and invites him in to give his pitch. Thoughts already swirling through his mind, of how he can use the young man’s naivety to his own advantage.
