Third Generation Leadership and the Locus of Control : Knowledge, Change and Neuroscience

　　First Generation Leadership (command and control) was the dominant model until the 1940s and Second Generation Leadership (compliance coupled with rewards and punishments) is still dominant today. In the information age this approach has come under increasing threat and it is being rejected by 'Generation Y ', threatening the longevity of traditional organisations. Third Generation Leadership is a new approach that elicits engagement, commitment, and enhanced accountability. This book is an introduction to the world of third generation leadership, which is based on understanding aspects of neuroscience that bear on the issue of where we centre the brain's locus of control and how this impacts on values, worldviews and behaviour, and on approaches to leadership issues.
