Converging Europe: Transformation of Social Policy in the Enlarged European Union and in Turkey

’Converging Europe’ evaluates the impact of European integration on social policy development since the launch and subsequent re-launch of the Lisbon strategy discussing the challanges posed by the unfolding global recession of 2008.

Ipek Eren Vural is Assistant Professor of Political Science and Vice Chair in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. Her current research interests cover comparative political economy of social policy, transformations in social security and health care systems and political economy of the pharmaceutical industry.
