Lincoln H. Forbes, PhD, PE, CM-Lean specializes in Lean Project Delivery and lean management systems. A professional engineer, he has over 35 years’ experience in quality/performance improvement as well as facilities design and construction management support. Dr. Forbes is a member of the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) and the International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC).　 He holds the CM-Lean credential from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He is a fellow of　 the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, (IISE), and is the founder and past president of their Construction Division. A senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), he also holds the LEED AP designation. He held senior facilities-related positions with Miami-Dade County Public Schools earlier in his career. Dr. Forbes has also served in adjunct positions in construction management programs at East Carolina University, Florida International University, and Drexel University. He is a principal consultant for Harding Associates, Inc. in Miami, FL. He holds Ph.D., MBA, and MSIE degrees from the University of Miami. He has authored several papers, columns, book chapters and books; he has served as a reviewer for the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, and the Journalof the Built Environment Project and Asset Management (BEPAM).

Syed M. Ahmed, PhD, is a full Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Construction Management at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. He was Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Construction Management of the College of Engineering & Computing at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami. He was also an affiliated faculty member of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at FIU. Dr. Ahmed has over 35 years of international experience in industry, teaching, research, and consulting in the United States, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Mexico, and Jamaica. He is the author of several books and has published extensively with over 160 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and conferences in his areas of expertise. Dr. Ahmed is currently on the editorial board of more than six international journals and serves as the associate editor of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Construction Engineering & Management and the Built Environment Project and Asset Management (BEPAM) journal published by Taylor & Francis in the UK.
