Crusading in the Long Nineteenth Century offers a trans-cultural examination of ＂crusade medievalism＂, that is the use of the symbolism and rhetoric of the crusades in the popular and political discourse of the long nineteenth century.

Adam Knobler is apl Professor of the History of Religion at the Center for Religious Studies (CERES), Ruhr Universität Bochum. He is particularly interested in the use of mythologies in creating historical narrative. Among his publications is Mythology and Diplomacy in the Age of Exploration (2016).
