Seth Gitner is an associate professor of magazine, news and digital journalism & visual communications at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University where he teaches multimedia storytelling, photography, and video journalism classes. He has served as head of the Visual Communication Division for the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), and he has served as a board member of the National Press Photographers Association. He has earned two life memberships for his work for the association. Prior to entering academia, Gitner was an award-winning multimedia editor and photojournalist working for newspapers in Maryland and Virginia.
