Chinese Student Migration and Selective Citizenship: Mobility, Community and Identity Between China and the United States

This book examines the four waves of Chinese student migration to the US since the 1970s, showing how they were shaped by profound changes in both nations and by US-China relations. By analysing increasing return and circular migration since the mid-1990s it revises the traditional model of studying immigration as a one-way assimilation process.
