A Ghost Story for Christmas Collection

A warm, cosy room, fresh greenery adorns the mantelpiece and the door frames. A fire dancing in the fireplace pushes the shadows to the corners. A family gathered together, hot cider in hands, faces glowing in the firelight. It’s Christmas eve, in a home not so far away or too long ago. A slight breath of wind causes the candles to flicker, brings a chill to the room. A voice, barely audible, whispers from outside the house. A face, pale, gaunt, and terror-filled, appears at the window. There’s a shriek and the candles blow out. What a perfect way to pass the night before Christmas. For three years in a row Del Merritt released a short book for the Yuletide season, starting with A GHOST STORY FOR CHRISTMAS. These contained Christmas ghost stories, as well as other tales of the Supernatural. In this he was doing his part in reviving the tradition of reading and telling ghost stories at Christmas time. This book contains all three of the Christmas ghost books, as well as some extra tales that are in the same vein - thirteen short stories to put the spirit back in the holiday season.
