The recent sightings of many mysterious drones in the skies over New Jersey have sparked renewed interest in unidentified flying objects and in alien, especially extraterrestrial, life. This book does not reject the possibility of alien life as conventionally understood and so brilliantly dramatized in science fiction novels and movies (A Space Odyssey, The Three Body Problem, etc.); it does, however, focus on the existence and development of a very different and all too familiar form of alien life--ourselves.
