It's not always easy to make the world a better place, even for Eugenia, the greatest sorceress of our age. Her mission was simply stated, though not to easy to accomplish, to reduce the sum total of misery on planet Earth. To aid her in this endeavor was her comrade in arms, Alton, a reluctant zombie, unwilling to come to terms with either his death or his love for Eugenia. In this second volume of stories, we observe Alton set loose upon the world, well intentioned but wreaking havoc due to his lackluster understanding of the human heart. Eventually, reunited with Eugenia, they undertake their most ambitious endeavor to date, a daring strike at the very wellspring of human misery. To do so, they must enlist the aid of none other than Poison Pie, Man of the Mushroom People, who makes an early literary debut here. Written from the fall of 1999 through the summer of 2000, these ten stories tell of the continuing exploits of Alton and Eugenia. The stories include "The Sound Effects of A Successful Hug", "The Hypothesis of Fingers", "Mycanthropy", "Californium-252, Here We Come" and six others. Also included as a bonus story is "The Apocalyptic Wooing of Miss Darla Pinker", which is of the same provenance as the rest of the stories in "Perhaps" and which asked not to be forgotten.
