Purple

'Purple' is a story of the lasting effects of a child's death from meningococcal.
PURPLE was awarded First Prize in the Short Story Section of the Yarram Community Learning Centre Annual Literary Competition - 2012. Judges were presented with a large number of entries, with a high standard. They say of Barbara's 'Purple': "This was was judged the winner because of its originality and it took the reader on an evocative journey as the characters were revealed. Purple was well written and very descriptive, with the writer presenting a compelling story that enabled the reader to feel complete empathy with the main character."
