TEOTWAWKI. "The end of the world as we know it"
Book 1, The Mountain, follows the life of a group of survivors sheltered inside the unused Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository at Jackass Flats, Nevada. The EMP series depicts what to expect in such a dreadful event that could happen at the hands of a rogue nation. North Korea, Iran, or even terrorists can deliver such a device on board a ship or even a backpack from across the border of a targeted nation. It could be a matter of when rather than a matter of if. In any case, the 3-book EMP series realistically depict the desperate efforts to survive following such an attack. Survival is brutal above all imagination. Book One covers the attack and two years afterward. Colonel Bradley, assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency, takes command of the uncompleted Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Repository where a selection of local ranchers, pre-chosen professionals, and Nevada National Guard support an assortment of government scientists seek shelter underground to escape the aftereffects of the EMP strike followed by nuclear war that produces a nuclear winter that lasts two years. The EMP series realistically depicts the life of a group of survivors living underground in the wake of an EMP attack that destroys electronic devices and the electric power grids over much of the world, causing 90% of the world's population to perish.
