Cairo, Egypt, 1948: a war weary foreign correspondent seeks shelter from the brutal July heat. He comes upon dusty old shop and discovers a hundred year-old journal. He purchases it and is intrigued by its report of an ancient and abandoned city in the desert with the promise of rich treasure awaiting anyone who dares make the journey. After recruiting an old friend, together they make the challenging journey to Sikait. Once there they discover the place is indeed rich with valuable treasures as promised in the old journal. But Sikait also hides a primal evil. Their quest for fortune soon becomes a terrifying ordeal of survival against a monstrous, unspeakable, ancient horror.
