Tau and the invasion is the brainchild of the fertile imagination of Alejandro Lamothe, who has been feeding it with a constant and diligent study of the latest advances in Astronomy and Physics. Lamothe has brilliantly succeeded in realizing the dream of creating an entertaining science fiction novel that can also educate readers about our Universe´s deepest and most seemingly complex secrets and mysteries.
In the tradition of Verne, Asimov and Bradbury, Lamothe uses sound scientific knowledge as the basis of his fantastic tale, managing to keep us interested till the end, while passing on some of the key concepts about stars, black holes, the theory of relativity and even Greek mythology.
The year is 2025, Alfredo Lafontaine, a famous scientist,is about to give a lecture. His three sons have gone out into space on a spaceship called TAU 6, which has mysteriously disappeared five years before. A ruthless multinational corporation called TransUniverse is trying to use the disappearance of the TAU 6 in their favor, to justify fear of alien attacks, and thus make profits selling military weapons to governments, so they can prepare for a potential invasion.
Throughout the book, Alfredo never stops fighting for the lives of his children, when almost everyone on Earth considers them dead.
Using a plausible scientific premise that draws from Einstein´s theory of Relativity and later research connected to it, Alejandro Lamothe creates a thriller set partly in outer space, the unraveling of which turns out to be both surprising and satisfying for the reader.
Dodging murder attempts and exposing various immoral crooks, Lafontaine travels around Europe and finally to Outer Space, in his quest to find his children and punish the story´s villains.
The futuristic world Lafontaine describes is no grim dystopia; the world has finally found a balance that the evil powers Lafontaine faces are threatening to destroy, but they will have to vanquish this modern hero first, and Lafontaine is one to put up a fight.
A sensual man of unlimited resources, Lafontaine is the opposite of the nerdy scientist´s cliché, which makes him a perfect hero for such a fascinating adventure
