A Crying Shame - Student Edition

＂Because the Lord warns the one he loves, even as a father warns a son with whom he is pleased.＂ Proverbs 3:12 GW Christians have regarded the history of ancient Israel impersonally and detached. We claim the blessings of Abraham’s seed with entitlement but ignore their sins and curses. God’s corrections and rebukes of Israel should also be applied to us. The biggest indictment against Ancient Israel (Jeremiah 9:6) was their willful ignorance of God while they claimed to be his chosen people. While we identify ourselves as Christians, we know much more of the world, more than many will admit. We bear the terrible scars of sin in and around us. Tragically, we have grown comfortable living in and around sin despite sin’s impact on our lives and the lives of those we claim to love. God does not desire for us to perish as unbelievers. This book is a challenge to you and me alike to show that we should. ＂Do those things that prove that we have turned to God and have changed the way we think and act and don’t just say Abraham is our ancestor...＂ Luke 3:8 GW
