In Kichtowne, nothing so exciting as an emergency ever happens. To most of it’s residents, the town is the last bastion of peaceful living in a changing world; a haven offering a predictable life. Ethelda Harold, however, has tired of the red dust, and would like to walk without dirtying her dresses. Willie Lee wishes to cast out the shag carpet growing inside of his innards. And Red wants to cleanse his soul with beer, Jesus, and a fresh new start. They’ve looked over Kichtowne’s picket fences, and the changing world looks awfully promising.
