Apocalyptic insanity tortures the minds of the human race as an unknown virus goes pandemic. Immunity to the frenzy is rare, those who are, watch helplessly as friends, and loved ones run mindlessly through the streets.
Nurse Sophie Norton is among the immune scattered over the city of Fork Grove, Ks, unaware of how the rest of the town or the world is faring. She has isolated a small pocket of victims and works at keeping them from mindlessly harming themselves and optimistically hopes the virus will burn itself out.
However, Sophie did not realize the virus was designed for a specific outcome and so, she is caught off guard when the virus mutates the minds of her patients, setting off a fresh wave of horror.
And a stubborn streak of determination to save them anyway.
