“Where is the Child who has been born King of the Jews? For we observed His star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage,” one of the wise men from the East who came to Jerusalem asked one of the guards at Herod’s palace.
The palace guard was surprised at the question of one of the wise men from the East.
“Sir, no baby was born in the palace of our King Herod either now or last year. If there ever was one, we should have known it because we are guarding the king’s palace day and night. No news from inside the palace escapes us,” the palace guard said.
