Brett Manchester is carrying a secret. He’s hiding who he truly is, just as he hid himself years ago. Years ago, when he was Drake Knight, lead singer to Black Dominion, the biggest rock band to hit the airwaves in decades.

Brett didn’t think he had a choice back in the day, when Drake was every girl’s and gay guy’s fantasy. Who wanted a fag as a famous rock star? So, Drake hid his sexuality and spiraled down into a deep depression, making drugs and alcohol the only things to relieve the pain.

But it got out of control. Drake, unable to carry on, disappeared from the world, and Brett was born, free to be whom he was. But deep down, Brett was still Drake, with all his insecurities, fears and confusions. Could Brett actually find the love of his life? Could he do a relationship like Drake was unable to do? With a man?
Then Brett met Cassidy, an intern at one of the many radio stations he owns. A young man that pushed every one of Brett’s buttons. And he ran…

It took the combined efforts of his former lead guitar player and friend, Johnny, his good friend and ex-lover Ricky, and Brett’s own determination to gather the courage to show Cassidy he could be the man for him, and not run away and hide again.

But he still had a secret, and that secret could very well tear them apart.

Cassidy Turner couldn’t believe the attraction he had for the owner of the station he worked for. Brett Manchester was hot! But when Cassidy showed his interest, the man ran from him, causing Cassidy to think he was unworthy, nothing but a young, naïve twink.
Much to his surprise though, he bumped into Brett again, and got an apology. An apology that started a tentative relationship. It was when Cassidy was recovering from an attack that he figured out just who Brett Manchester was. Figured out the man he was dating was actually the infamous, missing rock star, Drake Knight—lead singer to the band, Black Dominion—the same band that Cassidy’s older brother, Denny aka Mouse had been the drummer for.

But Cassidy kept his revelation to himself, not letting on to Brett he knew he was Drake. After all, Cassidy had fallen in love with Brett, not Drake Knight, his adolescent wet dream. And he was keeping a secret of his own. Brett didn’t know that his drummer, Denny, was Cassidy’s older half-brother.
But Brett’s secret was eventually revealed, by none other than Cassidy’s ex-lover, Kaidar White. And to Cassidy’s heartbreak, Brett held a press conference—and told the world that Cassidy was nothing more than his “flavor for the night”. Heart shattered, Cassidy withdrew to deal with the pain of rejection.

With his best friend, Angie, encouraging him to move on and Angie’s fiancé, Reed, telling him to make up with Brett, Cassidy was torn and confused, in agony. He’d thought Brett loved him even if he’d not said the words back. Now, it was too late.

Or so he thought.
