On March 21, 1996, a young man recently turned 18, was charged with the brutal slaying of a 15 year old boy in the streets of our nation’s capital. After declining several plea offers and refusing to turn snitch by cooperating with the government, Colie Levar Long went to trial, was convicted of conspiracy and first degree murder, and subsequently sentenced to a prison term of life without the possibility of parole.
Seventeen years later, the author chose to amalgamate a series of war stories, and narrate them into a single collage of harsh reality.
Drama City is a historical, urban fiction of epic proportions. This is not just another story of sex, drugs, and violence…it is a glimpse into the madness which lurks within us all.
