International development expert Peter Cox shows how opting for more physically active forms of transport shapes us positively as people, which in turn helps combat climate change, poor global health, and widespread social inequality

Peter Cox is Professor of Sociology at the University of Chester, UK. His research covers the sociology of cycling and cycle activism as well as the problems of sustainable mobility, active travel, and social justice. He contributes to a number of international networks developing policy for cycling and sustainable mobility. He has authored, co-authored, or co-edited numerous books, including Moving People: Sustainable Transport Development (Zed Books, 2010).
