Anya DeLacosta has spent six years on the run.
Born with a gift that is judged by some as miraculous and by others as demonic, she’s spent most of her life trying to blend in and appear normal. Too often though, she finds herself giving into temptation, tapping into her special gift to help those in need. But her secret is out. When a group of scientists realizes what she can do, they’ll pay any price to get their hands on her.
D'angelo Goretti was raised to be both spy and killer. He lives his life for one purpose: to kill the man who murdered his parents. Using an ability passed down in his bloodline, he is able to separate his spirit from his body. He can become a ghost. But when he wakes up in the hospital unable to re-enter his body and unable to remember how he got there, D'angelo finds himself in unfamiliar -- and dangerous -- territory.
When chance brings their worlds together, Anya and D’angelo are suddenly faced with new dangers neither of them could anticipate. And as the chemistry between them starts to heat, she’ll have to decide if she can trust him with both her life and her heart. If she can’t… it may spell doom for them both.
This book is intended for a mature audience.
This is the beginning of the “Ghosts N’ Things” novels and is intended to be read as a standalone.
EXCERPT
She never heard him move, not one footstep, but she knew the moment he was behind her.
Steady, sure hands picked up her braid and tugged at the tie. Determined fingers loosened the strands, pulling her hair free.
“I just braided that.” Anya pointed out mildly, her gaze still on the climbing sun.
“There wasn’t a minute that went by that I didn’t think about touching you. Running my hands through your hair, over your skin.” One hand slid down to rub and massage the tense muscles in her neck.
The breath in her lungs rushed out of her and a shiver rolled up her spine, her body going damp instantly. It was difficult to suppress a groan as his talented fingers loosened knots hidden beneath the skin.
“I’d never hated being in my ghost form more than when I was with you.”
