Math whiz Canada Gold is busy putting her skills to questionable use in the courthouses—and casinos—of Las Vegas when a case sends her back to Chicago, a city marred by personal tragedy. It’s been years since her father, a prominent composer, was murdered while working on his magnum opus. The crime remains unsolved… at least until Canada realizes that she’s being pursued by The Thousand, a clandestine group of powerful individuals safeguarding and exploiting the secret teachings of Pythagoras. But as Canada attempts to connect the ancient cult with her father’s murder, she finds herself caught between three very dangerous sides: those who want to use her, those who want to kill her, and the one person who wants to save her.
